I got bangs two weeks ago! Yay! I've finally done something with it rather then having it all one length and boring. I wasn't too sure about them earlier but I love them.

Nick flex's his muscles in the mirror with a satisfied expression on his face. "Cam we gotta put on a tank."

"To show off these guns eh?" Cam says, as he scans the room for the perfect tank.

Nick picks up a tank  and and tosses it to Cam. "This one dude."

As Nick puts on a hat and  bandana, Cam pulls out his phone to take the picture. Cam says, "Bra, get over here."

"Yo bro pop up the peace sign, girls love the peace," Nick says as he poses in front of the mirror.

Cam pops out his chest, and raises his chin. "Dang we look hot." he says as he checks his reflection out in the mirror.

Nick takes the picture, the two stare at the picture like they've never seen anything hotter in their life.

Christmas is here!

Here is a picture of my boyfriend and I at the Sabta Claus parade. We had the pleasure of being in it!!!! The business my uncle works for has a float every year and I've been on the float for probably the past five years. I love it and it's a great way to kick off the holiday season.  

Eavesdropping

We went downstairs into the halls and found a group of friends (2 guys and a girl) talking outside a locker. We were there for around 5 minutes listening to there conversation. It was mostly one of the guys and the girl talking to each other.  It was hard because people talk really fast, I also think they kind of knew that we were listening to them. I don't think people speak in full sentences and they cut each other off. The girl talked really quietly and I think it was because the girl was with 2 guys. People also jump all over in the conversation. You can kind of make it broken and have people cutting other people off. As well as having topics change quickly. I think that personality comes through in dialogue through the word  choice a person uses and there tone of voice shows how they are. I also think depending who controls the conversations shows if they are more controlling or not. When to or more people participate in a conversation I think that two people talk more then the rest of the people involved so it is controlled by the more dominant people in the group. I think that people converse differently with there girls friends then they do with their boyfriends and some peoples conversations have absolutely no meaning and are just to hear the sound of their own voice talking. Think in spoken conversation it is a lot easier to get the tone of voice a person has and you can learn a lot more about there personality and how they act around people. I think in written you don't get that one and it is a little harder to understand the tone.

Imagery Paragraph

Perks of Being a Wallflower

1)I chose this passage because of all the descriptive word choices. These words paint a picture in your mind, making you feel the same as Charlie did. This imagery helps tell the story more in depth making you visualize the way the character did. 

2)the author uses both senses visual and kinesthetic quite equally. The author wanted to put you in the shoes of the character. Make you feel and think the same way as him while reading it. 

3) The best snippet of imagery within this passage is "or how everything was a deafening whisper". This snippet helped me feel the way Charlie felt in the situation. How everything was a whisper but it was so loud. Everything someone would say you be pounding in his head (at this time Charlie was having physiological problems). 

4)I believe that this imagery is negative. Charlie is in a doctors office being told he  needed to see a psychiatrist again. He's going crazy, but he notices every single detail in the room, things normal people would see but not really look into as Charlie did. The author jumps from topic to topic, from him being in the room with his parents when they were told to a white coat to the character being tired. 

5)The emotion I feel is being created by this passage is dillusion. The way the author skips back and for between topics. How author wrote about how every little detail I felt like I was sitting in the doctors office going crazy. 

6)It's important that the reader is able to be put in the characters shoes. To know now how the character feels so the reader has a better understanding of the character.

I'm at the lowest part of the earth, and it's dragging me down.  My core is hollow, with grief and sorrow for my departed wife. I stand alone in this grave with people around, saying goodbye to the women I've found. My body is numb and my eyes weep, my heart pounds so bitter sweet. I look out to see the darkest dim floor, to rest my wife who is no more. I'm done with life I cannot live, I grasp my last breath and then I give.

If I had to choose between being a carnivore, or a herbivore for the rest of my life it would be a herbivore. Meat is nasty in my books, being a herbivore would be easy. Fruits, veggies, and grains all the time. You have a huge variety to choose from compared to what meat you could eat. Wouldn't you get sick and bored of eating dead animals all the time? Let along all the pollution animal factories and farms make, from all the toxic run off to all the gas emissions the farms give off. For the earths sake aswell choosing to only eat plants would be the best way to save it.

If you haven't tasted McDonalds, but would like an idea of what it tastes like, do this- make your way to the closest rendering plant. Be careful you may want to wear some sort of hazard suit (incase any pig pieces fly at you). Take a look at the tub of disgusting pig fat (you may know this as lard) and scoop up some of it and eat it. You now know what McDonalds tastes like, also add in a side of animal cruelty, GMOs and some chemicals for flavour and you've got it bang on ! 

Bra Specialist!

So just a few days ago I was told that I've been promoted to one of the three bra specialists at my work WOOO promotion! I'm super excited about this because I'll be in the fitting rooms all the time (my favourite place to be). I'm now an elevated associate and I have more responsibility and I'm really excited to start.

Halloween Costume!

Work Out Update

So I've been taking a workout class in school for the past few month and I'm loving it! I've learnt so much, not just about working out but nutrition as well. I've accomplished losing weight and body fat percentage, I'm very proud of myself and seeing results is so motivating. I can finally do a push up... I know lame but honestly before I couldn't even do one girl push up (embarrassing right?) but now I'm able to do regular ones! Woooooo! I'm seeing changes in my body, when I flex my bicep I can actually see some muscle there. I love the changes working out does for me, just one hour a day makes me such a happier person. I'm becoming more confident in my body. This class is something I'll take with me and use for the rest of my life.

NBA :O

October 29th is finally here. Today are the first seaon games of the year!!! Orlando Magic vs. Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Clippers vs. Los Angeles Lakers, and the one most people I know are excited about is the Chicago Bulls vs. Miami Heat game. Basketball is for sure my favourite sport to watch and I can't wait for this season to begin !

Wait... what just happened?

OMG. Thats all I have to say. I just finished applying to UNIVERSITY!! I just applied for direct entry to Human Ecology majoring in Human Nutrition Sciences at the University of Manitoba. I'm nervous, scared and excited all at the same time. I'm praying I can keep my grades up to be able to be accepted.
I'm hoping to be eligible for the early entrance scholarships (keeping my fingers crossed). If you don't know what Human Nutritional Sciences is, its what you take if you're wanting to become a dietitian (which is what I want to do) or many other careers that needs your knowledge of food and nutrition. Such as Health and Safety Coordinator, Food Product and Recipe Developer and Geriatric Food Designer. There are so many careers you can go into after you've completed your Human Nutritional Sciences degree. I'm SUPER excited to study and learn more about what I'm passionate about... I CAN'T WAIT!

Bra Certified!

So today at work (Victorias Secret) I passed my bra certification test and and I'm now bra certified!! What does this mean? It means I'm able to work in the fitting rooms by myself and I'm able to correctly find her, her perfect fit (In bras of course). I'm SUPER excited about this :) 

What if Calories Cost Money?

If calories cost 1cent per calorie I think many people would eat healthier. Fruits and veggies are way lower in calories then per say a cheese burger. I know that I would stay clear of the more expensive higher calorie foods just to save. People should be buying more fruits and veggies already but if they had a incentive WAY more people would be doing this. Fruits are about 90-100 calories a piece (90 cents to a dollar) compare to a cheese burger that is upward of 1000 calories for ONE burger (10 dollars) no one could afford buying multiple a day with prices like that.

Quick Write Robot

My robot servant would probably be a personal maid. I'm not too fond of cleaning and if I never had to clean again that wouldn't bother me on bit. My robot would be a shape shifter (that would be pretty cool) and would be able to change into whatever cleaning device or product it needs. Other then that my robot would have a filtered water fountain because I'm always drinking lots of water and I HATE tap water.... I personally think it tastes kinda gross. My robot would be orange because I really like the colour orange. When its not cleaning it will just look like a table or something ordinary so that i don;t have a huge robot in my room looking ugly and whatnot. I wouldn't want my robot to do everything for me because then I would turn into a really lazy unhealthy person.

10.Dictionary- You can find any word from A-Z in this wonderful app. Charlie is able to expand his vocabulary as he uses this to help write his papers for Bill. 

iPhone Appearance

I chose to create Charlies iPhone case to look like a bookshelf of his life. All of the books on the bookshelf are the ones Charlie was assigned to read by Bill. I coloured a black square over the camera part of the case to indicate how Charlie is never seen by everyone. He is always out of the picture, not in peoples minds. In the top right of the case I placed a jar with water in it representing all the tears Charlie has shed through out his life. The tissue box represents Charlies tears as well. The present on the second shelf shows the last present Charlie received from his Aunt Helen before she passed. The football to represent Charlie watching his brother play football with his family. Pencil and paper for Charlie to write all his letters with. Blood droplets representing Michaels and his Aunt Helens deaths. A memorial plaque for his Aunt Helen. I placed a black jelly bean on the shelf representing Charlie as the one who nobody wants. Cigarettes to show that Charlie smokes. Lastly there are dust bunnies under the shelf representing how Charlie is always never really though of, he's pushed to the side and forgot about.

Six Word Memoir De-brief

What did I learn about storytelling?

During this assignment I’ve realized that not all stories needed to be long written novels.  Not just the six words in our six word memoirs helped tell the story, but also the pictures. You hear the expression all the time “a picture says 1000 words” in this case they do. Along with the six words we’ve wrote, the picture as well as the punctuation helps tell the story.  You don’t need a novel to tell a story. By choosing the right combination of six words and picture, you are able to tell a complex story.

Where did I show my knowledge about using storytelling skills?

I showed my knowledge about using storytelling skills by using descriptive words throughout my six word memoirs. If you are wanting to tell a story in six words you need to be straight to the point by using words that a descriptive. I was able to use punctuation to help get my point across more effectively.  I also used visuals to help tell the story. But choosing pictures that help elaborate on the story I was able to make what I was talking about more clearly to the reader.

What did I learn as a reader, storyteller, and thinker?

I never realized how six words and a picture could open up a whole new thinking experience for you. As I read through my fellow classmates work I began to think what their stories were about. This assignment really made you think of all the possible ways you can say the same thing. I know when I was creating my six word memoir I would have to carefully chose the words I was going to use making sure the sentence was not over six words.  I’ve learned from this assignment that there is hundreds of ways you can tell a story you just need to be creative.

Fall is Here <3

I'm so excited that fall is finally here! It is by far my favorite times of the year, not too cold or too hot. The leaves falling off the trees scattering and piling up everywhere is so beautiful. Finally being able to wear warm cozy sweaters, leggings, boots and scarves…. What’s not to love about this weather? Fall to means Halloween, Thanksgiving and shortly after Christmas! I love love love going to all the Halloween attractions around the city. Six Pines is for sure my favourite out of all. Going with a big group of friends in the haunted house is the best time. Lets not forget about the fall bike rides! I enjoy biking down Corydon with my friends and grabbing delicious Starbucks.

Six Word Memoir #8

I chose this photo for my six word memoir about family.  I took this picture during one of the craziest thunderstorms I’ve driven through. I love thunderstorms; I love how calming they are, I love the sound they make, and I love the way they make everything smell so fresh and clean after.  My family and I were driving home from the lake (note my cousin drinking pop in the bottom left hand corner) and I had to snap a picture of the amazing lightning happening outside. I edited this picture in a way that the lightning was very visible. I made the font blue to represent the rain.
